Over the last few years Rebecca has taken part in the Police Service Parliamentary Scheme.
The objective of the scheme is to help parliamentarians understand the work of the police force and foster genuine personally informed contributions to participate in debates.
Rebecca has spent 25 days with different parts of Essex Police, ranging from visiting the Dog Unit, the Counter Terrorism Team and spending a night shift in a local town centre.
Rebecca said: “It was important for me to see first-hand the day to day pressures our local police force have to face. As a result I have given regular feedback to the Home Secretary.
One crime is one crime too many and none should be tolerated. Politicians, the Police and the public must continue to work together to combat all crime in our community.”
